Daniella Zapata Board Member
Daniella Zapata manages daily business operations and coordinates fundraising events for the American Red Cross of the Central Coast which serves all of Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties. In her position she finds fulfillment in supporting the hundreds of volunteers who tirelessly give of their time to carry out the mission of the American Red Cross within our local community.
Daniella, who is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, also earned a BSBA degree from Sullivan University in Kentucky before returning home to Salinas. In 2005, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit the Gulf Coast and Daniella felt the instant desire to help. She started volunteering for the American Red Cross and was able to commit 6 months to assisting the victims of the disaster in Texas. Upon returning home from her Red Cross deployment she was hired as the chapter's Health and Safety Manager. Over the past 12 years with the organization she has held various positions including Community Relations Manager, Volunteer & Youth Services Manager, and a stint as Interim CEO.
Understanding the importance of giving back to her community she is active in her local church where you will often find her greeting or teaching a large group of 5-6 year olds. As a graduate of Leadership Salinas Valley she has had the pleasure of working with several other community-minded leaders to tackle various projects which have had a lasting effect on the improvement of our community.
Daniella has found great joy in managing her daughter's softball team at Salinas Bobby Sox and assisting the league by serving as a Division Representative for the past two years. She is currently vice-president of the Parent Teacher Fellowship at Anthem Christian School where she ensures scholarships and enrichment programs are supported and funded.
