Food Options for Seniors

Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley: We serve home-bound seniors, 60 and older, in the Salinas Valley who can no longer shop or cook for themselves. Please call 831.758.6325 for more information.

Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley offers their HANDS Program to people who are under 60. Cost is $120 per month for 5-7 meals delivered to your door every week.

Salvation Army is prepared to offer a meal to seniors who drive but don’t want to go out to restaurants or grocery stores. Please call 831.443.9655 ext. 2900 and let them know you’d like to be on the Senior pick-up list. Meals may be picked up at Salvation Army located at 2460 N. Main Street in Salinas. Please give them 24-hour notice.

 

SPECIAL SHOPPING OPTIONS FOR SENIORS IN SALINAS

Whole Foods – Starting Wednesday – individuals 60+ will visit the store one hour before it is open to the public. Monterey Whole Foods will open from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. on Wednesdays for seniors.
