Kathie Haines originated from Denver, Colorado, but has lived in Prunedale for over 30 years. She has an adult daughter and two grandchildren who live locally, and another adult daughter who lives in Brooklyn, New York. She is employed at Salinas Valley Health as the Clerk of the Board of Directors.

Kathie learned from her mother at an early age the joy of volunteering. When her daughters were young, Kathie was an officer in the parent teacher groups and was a Girl Scout leader for both of her daughters. Currently Kathie is a Certified Evaluator for Therapy Dogs International, conducts therapy dog evaluations and makes therapy dog visits as a volunteer for Salinas Valley Health. Additionally, Kathie is a Director at Large for the Salinas Valley Health Service League Board of Directors. Kathie has served as a volunteer for many other local organizations, usually in a leadership capacity.

In her spare time, Kathie loves to spend time with her family and friends, walk with her dogs, and has many hobbies.
