Our Meal Program
Our menus were developed according to Dietary Guidelines for Americans to meet the nutritional needs of seniors. We have partnered with Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula. Beginning in March 2019, all of our meals have been prepared in the Sally Griffin Center commercial kitchen using locally sourced foods. A registered dietician develops all menus. All of our meals meet or exceed the federal and state regulatory guidelines to meet the needs of the aging population. Meals are nutritiously designed for diabetic, hypertensive and cardiac restricted (heart healthy) diets and are low in sodium.
With a wide variety of nutritious frozen entrees, the meal includes side items like soup, bread, fruit, and beverages that, together, form a balanced, healthy meal that is appropriate even for those on special diets.
The frozen main meals are easily stored in the freezer or refrigerator and are heated in a microwave or an oven.
As a supplement to the frozen meals, we can deliver a bag of groceries that may include fresh, local fruits and vegetables, staples such as oatmeal, peanut butter, canned protein and more.
