Areas We Serve
The Salinas Valley
We deliver meals to homes throughout the Salinas Valley, from Pajaro and Aromas in North Monterey County to San Ardo and Bradley in South Monterey County.
The Salinas Program serves seniors in Salinas. Meal deliveries are made to clients’ homes twice a week. On the first delivery, clients receive their frozen meals. On the second delivery, they receive a bag filled with fresh produce. Also, once a month, clients receive a bag of shelf-stable items such as peanut butter, soup, canned fruits, chicken, tuna and a variety of assorted food items received from our collaboration with the Food Bank for Monterey County.
The Rural Program serves the small cities and rural and isolated areas of the Salinas Valley. All foods (frozen meals, fresh produce) are delivered to clients' homes once per week.
Volunteers deliver a five-day supply of frozen meals. Meals are delivered all at once so clients can choose the meal they would like to eat each day and eat when they are hungry.
A separate organization, Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula (MOWMP), delivers meals to qualifying recipients on the Monterey Peninsula, from Marina to the North, Carmel Highlands to the South, and Carmel Valley to the East. Contact MOWMP at 831.375.4454 for details on their program.
