On Monday, July 26, 2021, enthusiastic Meals on Wheels volunteers, Board members and staff met, in-person, at Elli's restaurant in Salinas for the Annual Meeting. Each year in July, an annual meeting is held to report the status of Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley to its members, which includes volunteers, the Board of Directors and staff. We were excited to host the event in 2021 in-person as the 2020 event was held via Zoom.  There were 35 attendees who listened to a brief report from Regina Gage, Executive Director, on the status of the organization followed by a financial report from Jesus Yanez, Board Treasurer. A new board member was nominated on the floor and the current board voted to accept the nomination of Terri Larson as a board member beginning in August 2021. MOWSV also bid farewell to long-time board member and most recent Board Secretary, Sharilyn Payne who served 6 years on the board of directors. Sharilyn was thanked for her service to MOWSV and given a parting gift. All attendees enjoyed light appetizers and beverages and were able to mix and mingle, something not done for the past 16 months due to Covid-19 restrictions. Thank you to all the attendees!
