The American Red Cross Community Adaptation Program (CAP) is an immersive collaboration with local community nonprofits. Together, Red Cross CAP creates innovative enhancements that extend Meals on Wheels Salinas Valley's (MOWSV) community reach and fortify our ability to continue providing essential services during times of local disasters. The CAP in Monterey County has been a recent addition to Red Cross' efforts in California. MOWSV has benefitted from this support in a role as partner with Red Cross. They have sponsored First Aid/CPR training for our staff and volunteers, gifted our organization an AED for the warehouse, a new 10' square freezer as well as additional office equipment and material resources to enhance and expand the mission of MOWSV. With each local partner, Red Cross CAP crafts purposeful enhancements to boost the nonprofits' capacity, capability and continuity to provide vital services to underserved local families. 

During these challenging times, as senior nutrition programs are being cut and MOWSV funding has been significantly reduced, we are so grateful to receive this amazing support from the American Red Cross CAP. Collaboration is the key to being sustainable. We are stronger together!
