The Salinas Regional Sports Authority and the San Jose Earthquakes partnered to host “Grow the Game” a free soccer clinic and Community Health Day for youth and families in City of Salinas on July 26, 2025. The event had an attendance of approximately 150+ local children and their families and the soccer clinic was led by Quakes legend Shea Salinas. During the closing ceremony of the clinic, Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley and The Food Bank for Monterey County were presented with a $30,000 check from the San Jose Earthquakes in support of our agencies feeding families, wellness access, and community support. Both agencies will receive $15,000 each. Mayor Dennis Donahue and Supervisor Luis Alejo spoke at the closing ceremony and were in attendance for the check presentation shown here with MOWSV staff, Laurie Bend, Marketing & Operations Director. MOWSV is so grateful to the San Jose Earthquakes and their support of the important work our agencies do every day to feed the community, from youth to seniors and families.
