In addition to our Home Delivered Meals program, that has been serving homebound seniors since 1972, Meals on Wheels Salinas Valley began hosting a lunch program for seniors, in 2021, to encourage them to have fun and socialize in a trusted location. These socials combine a hot lunch, live music and/or an activity, fresh produce from the Food Bank for Monterey County and senior resources presented by local agencies. 

In September 2025 we expanded our socials to seniors living in Marina. This new social was named MASSO (MArina Senior SOcial) to follow the names of our existing socials. This event, in collaboration with CHISPA, is held at Marina Manor Senior Apartments in Marina on the first Tuesday of each month. MOWSV now hosts 7 socials each month: King City on the first Thursday; Soledad on the second Tuesday; Greenfield on the second Wednesday; Salinas - The Hub on the third Tuesday; SASSO - Sherwood Village on the third Thursday and Castroville on the fourth Wednesday.
