Rural Program - Volunteer of the Quarter DEC 2024

Congratulations to Gordon Larson, selected as the 2nd quarter 2024-25 Volunteer of the Quarter for Rural routes. Gordon became a volunteer with the encouragement of his wife, Terri (a former MOWSV board member) on December 7, 2022. Gordon is so glad he listened to her! He has a North County meal delivery route that is very demanding and takes him to off-the-beaten-path locales. Gordon shared that his favorite part of being a volunteer with MOWSV is "seeing my people every week and seeing them smile."
Gordon decided to get involved in helping his community through volunteerism after retiring from a job with the State of California. After working for the state for 26 years, he looked forward to retirement. Gordon is proud to share that he has lived in the North Monterey County area for his entire life. Another tidbit that he shared is that he is happily married to his wife,Terri, since 1979 -- nearly 46 years. The couple shares two sons and three grandchildren whom they adore and try to spend as much time as possible with.
Gordon is never bored! In addition to volunteering as a meal delivery driver with MOWSV, he shares additional time as a volunteer with the Steinbeck House, birth home of Salinas author, John Steinbeck.
Congratulations, Gordon, on being honored as Volunteer of the Quarter!
