Congratulations to NCI Affiliates, Inc. for being honored as Volunteers of the Quarter for third quarter FY 2024-25. This group has been delivering meals to our homebound clients since 2015 with an interruption during the Covid-19 pandemic then restarting in 2023. The NCI Affiliates clients that deliver the meals are part of a program dedicated in providing services that encourage and support individuals with disabilities, so that they may successfully achieve their personal and professional goals. “One way to achieve this is by having their clients start out in day programs and volunteer at locations throughout the city,” stated name, NCI Affiliates staff member. They continued explaining that “The clients gain confidence, self-esteem, responsibility, trustworthiness and socialization. We chose to volunteer at Meals on Wheels Salinas Valley to give our individuals an opportunity to help others in the community and a chance to learn vocational skills and social interaction with those working at Meals on Wheels.
