Launched in 2021, Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley (MOWSV) created a congregate meal program for those seniors who are able to leave their homes and meet others for a monthly luncheon/social. These socials combine a fresh lunch (provided by local restaurants/organizations), live music and/or an activity, a produce box/bag from the Food Bank for Monterey County and senior resources presented by local agencies. MOWSV hosts 5 socials each month:

1. SOCOS Social -- King City on the first Thursday of the month

2. SOCOS Social -- Soledad on the second Tuesday of the month

3. SOCOS Social -- Greenfield on the second Wednesday of the month

4. SOCOS Social -- Gonzales on the third Thursday of the month

5. NOCOS Social -- Castroville on the fourth Wednesday of the month

The attendance for each social grows from month to month. Seniors are spreading the word in their respective communities about how much fun they have at these events and how helpful the senior resource information is to them. MOWSV hosts 5 socials each month except the months of January and August. You're invited to stop by one of these socials in your community to experience the fun!
