A Story of the Traveling Pants
Our MOWSV volunteer, Kent Curley (pictured above) shared that his daughter had mended his torn jeans with some fun and colorful patches that have drawn a lot of attention with the clients he delivers meals to each week. Kent decided to wear the jeans every time he delivers meals and calls them the "Memory Jeans." He said that many conversations began with clients sharing their personal memories of clothes they had patched when they were younger. "There were so many different reactions to my jeans at each delivery, from happy tears and stories of 'back in the day' to conversations about each clients' childhood memories and their experiences while growing up," Kent said. Little did Kent know the impact his jeans would have on our clients! What a wonderful way to start conversations with seniors who enjoy visiting and chatting at every meal delivery. Thank you, Kent, for sharing this with us!
