Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley is forever grateful to former secretary of the MOWSV board and long-time volunteer, Jon Brandt. Today, Jon bid farewell to Meals on Wheels and returned his car magnets to Program Coordinator, Alison Samuels. We will miss Jon and his wife, Emily (who was a substitute driver when Jon could not drive his route). Jon served on the MOWSV board from 2013-2016 and then as board secretary from 2016-19, and was a volunteer delivery driver for those 6 years as well. He continued to deliver meals after he had served 6 years on the board, with his last delivery on July 8, 2021. Jon was always available to pick up a route when needed and to help with fundraising events for MOWSV. Jon and Emily are relocating to Texas and he told us that he has already found the Meals on Wheels in his new area so he can continue volunteering! We will miss Jon and Emily and their dedication to our organization.
