Our usual holiday celebrations, dinner for Salinas volunteers and luncheon for South County volunteers, to honor our wonderful volunteers was cancelled for 2020 due to COVID-19 and the stay-at-home orders. Not only that, but we all know that restaurants were now allowed to host groups of diners. The staff at Meals on Wheels put on their thinking caps and showed their appreciation to all of the MOWSV volunteers by hosting a "Pick up a breakfast burrito" before your meal delivery route during the week before the Christmas holiday. Each volunteer also received an official "MOWSV - an essential service" coffee/tea tumbler and a personally signed greeting card with a special surprise in each one. Volunteers are the driving force of our organization and we could not do all that we do for so many seniors if it weren't for these volunteers. Happy holidays! And, we hope to have an "in-person" holiday celebration hosted at a restaurant in December 2021. Fingers crossed!
